Description
George III halfpenny with the obverse inscription around the periphery reading: EARL HOWE & THE GLORIOUS FIRST OF JUNE. The image in relief is of Richard Howe, 1st Earl Howe (1729-1799). There is also a large stamped 'H' to the left of the head. The reverse side shows Britannia with the inscription around the periphery: RULE BRITANNIA 1795. On the coins edge is the following inscription: HALF PENNY PAYABLE BY JOHN STRIDE EMSWORTH
